James, I think your right about labels… I dont know a dancer whos aim in the pursuit of a career is to be “Proffessional” or be taken seriously. (For a given value of serious). I think we pursue the love of dance and sometimes that has to be enough…

@Minna – I’m pretty sure that’s what I looked like, at least some of the time. I like to make an impression!

@Mike – That’s a great visual, and pretty spot on with how I try and remember to be (if not always successfully). I wonder if this imagery will help me to remember more often. Thanks!

I hereby proclaim you a P———-l! And it doesn’t have to lead anywhere. The 20 year roadmap is a trap anyway – there’s no way you or I can know what we’ll be doing in 5 years much less 20. And as you say, it would be painfully boring to just plod along checking off tasks.

I have finally accepted that I can take care of where I am now, and I can pick a point between where I am now and my horizon to walk toward. Worrying about what’s over the horizon accomplishes nothing. Once I walk a little farther, the next horizon will come into view. That sounds like where you’re at too.
