Sure, people need connection, but not all people are passionate about connection.

And from what you're saying, it does sound like you could narrow it down some more. Maybe it would help to list some types of connection that you're not passionate about.

Here's some random brainstorming of types of connection that come to my mind that you could think about to see whether you feel passionate about them.

Deep, committed, lifelong romantic relationships.

Emotional and sexual intimacy with oodles of people.

Meeting random people in a dark room for platonic cuddling.

Having a pen pal from a foreign country.

Moving to a foreign country and immersing yourself in its culture.

Being famous and adored by throngs of fans.

Meeting lots of famous people.

Sitting in a room silently with many others, each individually contemplating.

...there are an infinite variety of ways to connect; which ones call to you and which don't? If you go the full Renaissance path, will you be able to connect deeply and passionately with everything your heart desires?

I'd sit with it in a quiet space. How does your heart feel when you talk to it about human connection?

I think it's a perfectly valid passion. It may seem vague to you, but to me you're looking at a particular kind of heart connection, or perhaps connecting passions. Not all human connection is the same, after all.

Not all people are driven by the desire to connect or connect other people together. That's the difference, I think. It's not about whether people "do without human connection", but how much it matters, how much it makes their heart soar.

Writing is something loads and loads of people do - it's a fundamental skill. But it doesn't make everybody's heart soar to write. Many, many people have the capacity to draw, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's their passion.

Passion is what energises you. I don't think it needs to be a thing. It's what matters deep down in your soul.
